How do I advertise my digital scrapbooking services?

Monday, June 29th, 2009

I am talented at creating digital Scrapbooking pages. Friends and family have suggested that I should sell my work. I am fairly certain that there is a need out there for this sort of service because many people do not have the time/inclination to scrapbook but would like a finished photo album of their memories.

I was wondering how I should go about advertising my services beyond word of mouth. I was thinking about creating a webpage but I don't know how to promote it. I was thinking about creating flyers in my neighbourhood. I am not sure what else I could do. Any suggestions?

Good questions, I have a scrapbook business and I am always trying new ways to advertise.

My first suggestion is networking word of mouth is the best advertisement because it is a testimonial of your great work and people are more receptive if they know someone that recommended you.

A website is the business card of the new Millennium and a great way to display your work, you can find some web page sites that have a easy to use templates to help you set your site up http://www.homestead.com . Another option is to start a blog which is free and a great way to share your work and promote yourself http://www.blogger.com .

Another good tool is the old classic business card and flyer's. I carry them around and give them to anyone I meet Vista print offers free business cards and great templates http://www.vistaprint.com .

My latest advertisement idea is a monthly newsletter featuring new products, events, product specials, and other Scrapbook information I believe is worth sharing.http://scrapbookmemorias.blogspot.com

I guess the best suggestions is keep trying new things scrapbooking is great hobby and is becoming very popular teaching others how to preserve precious memories is important and I congratulate you on your efforts. Good Luck and feel Free to check my website and contact me for more information. http://memorias.memory-works.com .

When scrapbooking and buying special background paper, do you still use the album paper?

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

I am just getting into Scrapbooking due to the new addition in my family. I am wondering, when you go out and purchase the nice pretty background paper, do you glue that to the provided white paper of the Scrapbook or do you omit the white paper and just use the pretty paper?

I have chosen to not glue anything to the scrapbook white board. I figured if I need to change my mind on order of the pages, it's impossible with something glued to both sides. So I just get a background paper and attach everything to that, then slide it in (in front of the white page). If you mean, do you utilize the white paper as part of the background, and just decorate the white paper…no, I don't do that either. I like lots of decoration and cover every square inch.

Either way, your choice.

I have been doing traditional Scrapbooking for 9 years. I now want to start digital Scrapbooking. The trouble is I have no clue on how to procede. I am also fairly cyber challenged. I do not just need a book for dummies but one for complete idiots. I have a photoshop CS2 program that I am just learning. I also have Corel Paint Shop Pro XI. Can anyone recomend a few books that will take me through each and every little step?

There are tons of good message boards out there that will help you. Scrapgirls is a very good one that comes to mind. They also have online tutorials for some of the software. Check them out! www.scrapgirls.com

Which online scrapbooking store has the best prices/shipping?

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

I order Scrapbooking items online frequently and find that prices for the same item vary from one store to the next. I buy on ebay, also, but have found that many times ebay prices go higher than buying from an online site.
Have you found a good scrapbooking site for general scrap supplies that has good prices? Shipping prices should be low, too.

This store isn't too bad on shipping.

What is a good digital scrapbooking website?

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

I'm creating a yearbook and am wondering what a good free digital Scrapbooking website would be to make these yearbook pages on.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

Try Picabo. It's a neat site! You download the software to your PC so you don't have to be on-line to create a book. It's free to download, and create but you need to purchase the book when you are ready to print it.

What is the best scrapbooking message board to be a member of?

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

I am looking for a Scrapbooking message board that is active but is easy to navigate. I dont want to have to reread the same messages over and over to find the new posts. I would like for them to be easy to find. I also would like it to be informative with alot of creative ideas. Does anyone have any recommendations?

We are so behind on Scrapbooking…it seems as if there is no time to do all the great ideas we come up with. LOL
This one has some ideas and some contests and stuff.
